Walter launches new Xtra.tec?insert drill

The new Xtra.tec?insert drills are launched under the designation B4213 for drilling depths up to 3xD. The inner and outer inserts have a special design. The inner insert provides for centering, while the outer one is equipped with wiper geometry for maximum precision and good surface qualities. The helical tool shank ensures exceptional chip flow. For various applications, universal Tiger.tec?or PVD-Tiger.tec?cutting materials are available, the latter especially for the processing of high-alloyed stainless steels. Currently, the latest Xtra.tec?insert drills are available in the diameter range 21 to 29mm, but Walter is already planning to extend the range downwards step by step to 14mm, as well as to enlarge the indexable insert product line.
