Winkler und Dünnebier Süßwarenmaschinen GmbH (WDS), one of the leading international manufacturers of confectionery machines, is exhibiting at interpack (7-13 May 2020) in Düsseldorf. The company, which a year ago, built two ultra-modern production halls with around 14,000sqm of additional production space, as a response to demand for high-quality confectionery production plants, will present further innovations at this event.
WDS has secured 560sqm exhibition space at Hall 1, booth B66, to feature a brand new lab depositor for product development and innovative depositing processes; a new generation of the high-performance mogul plant type 660, as well the latest ConfecVARIO with a new drive system. Both the Mogul and ConfecVARIO systems will be shown in Düsseldorf.
For the first time using virtual reality, trade visitors will be able to enter the internal production processes of a ConfecPRO moulding plant, and this allows an intensive exchange with the customer about the manufacturing processes and the topics of maintenance, accessibility and cleaning.
The company will also focus on its services and support as partner in confectionery production.
Product development and manufacture of innovative dosage forms
A compact and multifunctional depositor is now available for product development and manufacture of innovative dosage forms. Both an optimised Easy-Clean concept that prevents contamination/cross-contamination, and a risk-based development of a concept in accordance with applicable GMP regulations make the lab depositors ideal for those interested in the market for innovative and alternative dosage forms.
The Mogul plant type 660 is modular
Mogul plant type 660
The highly efficient Mogul plant type 660 has a suitable cost-performance ratio as a result of its modular design. It is made of stainless steel and rustproof materials, such as aluminum that ensure longevity and hygienic production with proven WDS depositing technology. The extractable depositors already integrated in the standard version, safeguard against poor cleaning and non-ergonomic setup options.
With starch moulding, there is now a clear separation of moist starch and conditioned strach, i.e. a complete demarcation within the plant enables a 100% sieving. Only conditioned strach is used to fill the moulds. Although the Mogul 660 can optionally be operated with an external cyclone screener, this is not necessary in standard version due to the proven de-powdering with separating and cleaning sieves within the plant. The removable sieve station ensures easy access and quick, convenient maintenance.
In addition to a bigger starch storage to fit various product sizes, the machine type has a tray filling station for efficient filling with product-optimized distribution of the starch and exact adaptation to the print layout. The scraping unit has been further developed so that even better print results can be achieved with improved pre-distribution and starch leveling – a compact and low-maintenance drive unit ensures smooth tray transport.
ConfecVARIO maximum flexibility and hygiene through innovative drive system
With its new mould transport, the ConfecVARIO machine sets standards in terms of flexibility and hygiene in the production of chocolate confectionery products.
Flexible plant layouts. "With our new transport system, there is enormous flexibility in the layout of the system," explains WDS area sales manager Thomas Kleppel, "because a variety of different designs such as "around the corner" will be possible without major additional costs a great advantage, for example, in confined spaces ".
With the new ConfecVARIO system, workstations and transport no longer have to be completely synchronised, each mould can be moved individually and processes can also run in parallel. At interpack, the WDS trade fair team will be on hand to talk about options in plant layouts.
Hygiene and ease of maintenance redefined. The ConfecVARIO follows the Easy Clean cleaning concept. In addition to being made of stainless steel and rustproof materials, it is first of all the thought-out design, the functionality and accessibility of the individual components that guarantee fast cleaning with highest quality and shortest possible set-up times.
Moreover, the new drive system features drive units and guides that are easier to clean compared to conventional drives.
With the presentation at interpack 2020, WDS would like to support future users such as operators, maintenance personnel or technicians in order to show new solutions that meet the requirements of modern production.
Premiere at interpack: The first virtual presentation of a complete WDS system. With the presentation of a complete ConfecPRO plant, WDS is taking a new, highly innovative path virtually and fully digital. For the first time, a virtual presentation will enable visitors to use VR technology to enter into the internal production processes of this type of plant in order to get to know the structure, technology and functionality of all installed components and their interaction.
With this technology, the individual needs of the customer with regard to product, maintenance and cleaning can be determined and the construction and manufacturing phase reduced before a project is awarded.
ConfecPRO Type 670 enables the production of a wide variety of chocolate products, e.g. solid and filled, but also, bars, chocolates and others. It is aimed at confectionery manufacturers with medium to high output quantities who want to include a later growth oriented expansion to their investment with little effort.
