The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said that Asia is rebounding from the economic crisis more quickly than anticipated. It projected growth for the whole of Asia, which includes the advanced economies of Japan, Australia and New Zealand, at 6.9% this year and 7% in 2011. The inflation rate in developing Asia, which consists of China, India and other south Asian countries, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and some Pacific Island nations, will likely average 5.9% this year and 3.7% next year, according to IMF. The metalworking market is witnessing signs of recovery all over the world. As the global metalworking market begins its path to recovery, industry professionals across Asia expressed their statements about the industry and what they foresee next year in this month's Outlook 2011 section. Another indication of recovery in Asia is the recent Metalex Vietnam. The exhibition came and went, and by all accounts a success for all those involved, buyer and sellers alike. The exhibition was predominately for the companies that support metal manufacturers with various resources, such as software, technology, machine tools, equipment and alike. As we approach the end of 2010, many are getting excited about SolidWorks World 2011.
