THEY say we eat with our eyes first, which of course is true. Color and presentation enhance appetite. In many parts of the world, people are simply appreciative to have something on the table – no matter what it looks like – as long as it’s edible, if you come to think about it.
Losing their true colors to processing, packaged foods have to be re-colored to gain back their natural appetizing look, otherwise they lose their appeal. True colors are equated with freshness. No one likes to see brown where yellow or orange should be. For more on colors, read research on page 19.
In this month’s boardroom connection, we learn about coconut oil from Josefina Savares, the president of CocoPlus Aquarian Development Corporation Her company manufactures and exports virgin coconut oil, one of the healthiest products known to man. Ms Savares says the Philippines from where the company is based, has the best variety of coconut in the world.
