We asked them about their customer-driven solutions and how they intend to meet soaring demand, particularly from Southeast Asia where growing incomes amongst the middle class is expected to further consumption. In our beverage section, we profile Lao Brewery, the leading beverage manufacturer in Laos which accounts for 97% of the country’s beer output and 70% for soft drinks. According to managing director Kissana Vongsay, the company plans to manufacture juices, flavoured waters, and other non-alcoholic drinks in the future.
We also spoke with fruit wine maker, Elbert Pigtain, president of the Philippine Tropical Fruit Winery Corp., who after winning several awards for his one-of-a-kind fruit wines (foreign dignitaries and Hollywood celebrities have tasted them), is busy working with government agencies to improve the fruit wine industry in the Philippines.
