With or without statistics, it is obvious that coffee consumption is on an upward trend even in tea-drinking Asia. In this issue, we give you insights on the state of the industry from Mauricio Galindo, head of operations at the International Coffee Organisation, Harm Oudenhoven and Arman Ginting agribusiness experts from SNV Indonesia, and Veronica Herlina from the Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia.
Our section on health & nutrition focuses on ageing gracefully. Healthy agers – people between 45 and 75+ years old – feel that they can do more and they want more out of life. There are countless products to address their health concerns such as osteoporosis, constipation, even wrinkles! Needless to say, we’re all heading toward that stage – yes, we will be part of the ‘silver tsunami’ – and we’d like to think that we can still look and feel good 20 years from now.
